Making Bad Habits Stop – For Good

All the battles in the Bible picture things we fight against in ourselves in an attempt to make changes in our life. There are a lot of battles.

King Saul is told to go and fight against the Amalekites, an old enemy of Israel and to totally destroy them. He completes half the job, keeping the best sheep and cattle and also taking their king alive.

This attempt of Saul pictures that we sometimes don’t want to give up our habits entirely and so we hold on to certain aspects of it, thinking that is not such a bad idea. But Saul quickly learns that this is not a good idea and that because of his choice he can no longer be the king.

What do you need to give up? What is holding you back? What would it like to be completely free of old, hurtful habits and behaviors? Want to give it a try?
