Keys To A Happy Life, Part 5: Compassion and Mercy

The Sermon on the Mount begins by Jesus outlining what the true blessings of our life are.  This week we will discuss the fifth one: “Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy.”

The fifth key to happiness is to recognize your need for the Lord’s mercy in your life by examining your own life and seeing your own shortcomings.  When we do this then the Lord’s mercy and compassion is welcomed in and felt for the first time and it can spread from our lives to the lives of others. In other words when we see how imperfect we are it helps us to accept the imperfections we see in others and even see them from a place of love and compassion.

We are a lot happier when we can let go of judgment of others.

See you Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
