Prayer For Others: Does It Do Any Good?

pray-for-others

It seems like common sense that we ought to pray for others when they are in need. Yet sometimes we find ourselves in circular arguments in our mind about why we should bother. If God is all knowing and all loving and all wise why would we need to pray for others when of course God is managing the universe as perfectly as possible and doing as much good to all people as is possible? What difference do our prayers make? Are we going to change the course of people’s lives and events of this world by praying?

We are going to talk about his on Sunday. See you there at 10:30 a.m.

The Life Giving Power Of The Word

River of life

In the book of Ezekiel we read of a vision of Jerusalem and the temple there with a river flowing out from it. Wherever the river went and whatever it touched it gave life.

This is a reminder that the Word of the Lord gives life and can restore what is lost or broken within us. This river of water is a symbol for the Word and the truth within it. Water and is mentioned so often in the Word because it is a symbol for truth and the life it can give to our mind and spirit.

We hope to see you on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
